چکیده

The application of Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) is presented for the direct elemental analysis hydrocarbon-rich solids. In recent years, LIBS has become a powerful tool obtaining information and mapping different petroleum-rich samples with minimal to no sample preparation without need separate organic matter from inorganic matter. By selecting most intense representative lines, element distribution in 2D map can be accessed less than ten hours. For this reason, two types solids were chosen examination, i.e., core shale. Nineteen elements identified samples, Ca, Mg, Fe, Ti, Ni, C, H, K, O, S here. A detailed elements, main components hydrocarbons present these determined using LIBS. H/C molar ratio was by building H C calibration curves data obtained classical via combustion. These contained high degree linearity (R2 > 0.98) limits detection (193 nm), (247 (656 nm) 848 mg kg−1, 353 3.5 respectively. combining all information, allowed us determine how spatially distributed, which dominant given sample, much hydrocarbon present, as well providing quantitative determination ratio, its correlation source origin.

Laser-induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (libs) for Elemental Composition Analysis of Aerosols

Laser-induced Breakdown spectroscopy was applied for the elemental analysis of aerosols. Particular care has been taken in optimizing the time resolution of the LIBS spectra and the detection limit of the technique has been evaluated for Na, Ca and Mg atoms. The applicability of the technique has been extended to the case of fly ash generated from coal combustion. Introduction The analysis of a...

Remote Laser - induced Breakdown Spectroscopy ( LIBS ) Analysis of Hydrated Sulfates

Introduction: One of the most promising of instruments selected for the upcoming Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission for analyzing Martian rocks is the remote Laser-Induced Breakdown Spec-troscopy (LIBS) on the ChemCam instrument package. The LIBS technique involves focusing a laser pulse beam at a distant target with sufficiently high energy that a plasma is made, reducing a small spot on th...
